{kristin} brittany + rob {DESTINATION WEDDING!!}

Two of my good friends married in Jamaica this past December.  It was the best combination of work + vacation.   It was such a sweet time!  I'm overloading my site with blog posts right now.  I've been so busy burning up HWY 90 photographing all over the place.  I feel so bad for neglecting my poor blog.  I cannot tell you how many times I've been asked if I quit my job in photography lately.  No way.  I'm just a bit swamped these days and cannot seem to find the balance to be able to blog.  Enjoy these beach photos!

{kristin}  www.frioman.com

Dickie and Gwen Lambert have a great office right in the middle of Concan.  They manage and rent vacation homes/ cabins in Concan for owner's that live out of town.  Concan is perking up with all of the rain that we have had.  Everything is green and blooming and the river is flowing.  Off-season is my favorite time of year in Concan.  It's quiet and peaceful, the leaves are changing and it's the perfect time to bundle up by a fire with close family and friends.  It's my favorite.  Visit www.frioman.com to check out the rental properties that are available through Frioman.  Gwen and Dickie were a ton of fun.  I really enjoyed their session.  My favorites are those by the falls, which is where he apparantely proposed.. sweetness.  I'll be shooting his sons wedding in May and I'm really looking forward to another Concan wedding!!  It's so beautiful.  I cannot wait.

URTH STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY: destination JAMAICA

Destination this December is JAMAICA.  I have been longing to book a destination wedding for quite some time now.  My dream has come true.  I'll be packing my bags with bathing suits and sunglasses this holiday season.  The countdown has begun.  Pilates..  here I come.  I have some mad hula-hoop skills and it seems to be a pretty nice cardio for my wimpy workout skills, so I'm headed to ACE Hardware today to make a big hula-hoop with weights.  I'll be busting out with the hula-hoop skills.  Watch out.  Oh, Jamaica.  How I can't wait to see you again.  I've been a hand full of times, so this will be a great trip of remeniscing and relaxing.  :)

Contact URTH STUDIO for destination wedding collection prices.  We travel anywhere and everywhere!

URTH STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY:  galveston

Following my week at LOVE AFFAIR I departed Atlanta and headed straight to Houston for a girls weekend in sweet Galveston.  Little did I know I had arrived at the wrong airport in Houston where I had arranged to be picked up.  My eyes were puffy, my legs were aching, my hair was tossed all over the place, my luggage was like 90 pounds on wheels and 50 pounds on my shoulder, my brain was tired..  I picked up the phone and called Angie once we landed and mid-conversation I thought.. "I have no idea where I am, but I have a feeling I'm not in the right place."  I made it to Galveston thanks to Hillary and had the best time with all of Angie's friends.  Galveston is beautiful.  The architecture is a photographer's dream.  I had never been.. obviously.  Below are a few details from the nice weekend.  I decided to leave you with only a few details.. Can't wait to see all of you gals soon.  ;

URTH STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY: the big D

I am happy to say that my trip to Dallas was every bit of successful and so very inspiring.  My fashion design roots seem to grasp my mind and heart still very often.  I don't think an artist or designer ever loses their connection with things they have once been so passionate about.  I was eager to hit the textile warehouses that I used to frequent during my first year in school in Dallas.  My eyes were in HEAVEN.  I am seriously obsessed with textiles.  Somehow I managed to keep my cool and only purchase what I needed.  Thankfully having gone to market the day before I was a little shopped out.  My eyes were tired.  Kincaid was the best sidekick to have along for the trip.  He's so easy.  He kept the laughing to an all time high.  I fell into all of the right places immediately.  My list of things-to-do were checked off within the first two hours.

Aaaaaah, York Street.  Most of you know Mr. Matt Balke.  We had dinner at York Street about 6 months ago for our first time.  We indulged in the chef's tasting menu, which each course is paired with wine.  This time we ordered straight off the menu.  I could not resist ordering "Matt's Gniochi", which a table over from us expressed to his waiter that he thought they were "little pillows stuffed w/ heaven."  YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.  You must dine at York Street if you are ever in the big D.  www.yorkstreetdallas.com  I LOVE to read Balke's bio.  Check it out.

First the news of Farrah.. and then the news of Michael Jackson.  SO sad.  It was a big part of the trip.

The first evening we arrived we thought a nice lax dinner and wine would sounded perfect, so we explored Central Market on the way to the hotel.  We loaded up on cheese, wine, fruit, dehydrated okra, olives, scottish smoked salmon.. you name it.  Well, we checked into our hotel room only to find that all of the mini-fridges were not working.  How does a Westin manage to pull that on us!!  So, we stuffed our faces and had to chunk the leftovers.  :(

A visit to the Style Station was a must every other time I was in-route between Dallas and Austin.  I'm not particularly fond of wearing someone's old duds.  That's not the fascination.  All of the old and funky clothing designs are SO inspiring.  The colors, the silhouettes, the fabrics, the prints.. can promote such great design ideas.  I have a hefty library full of great finds.  I cannot forget to mention that boots are always fantastic finds at the Style Station.  The walls are lined with them and once you shuv the front door open lovely and loud music blares from their record player.  It sets the mood.

I like this picture, however as a republican I'm a big fan of Bush, so.. you will see the stickers.  Those were not the appealing factor of this image. ;

Workspace.  This will make you feel like a saint.  Love this.

This was today on the way home and as you can tell it was a long week in Dallas.  I'm not lookin' so hot.  Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles.  Can't get enough.
